We currently have 4 ridgebacks living with us. Randi and Newby, are from Margo's second litter. Randi has taken over the alpha position of the pack after we lost Margo and then Dyna. We also have Brody, our "California import" from Calico Ridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks and who is the grandfather of our newest ridgeback, Stachi. The following pages highlight each one of them, giving you a chance to see that even though they are the same breed of dog and coming from similar lines, they are very much different with their own personalities. Margo's second litter was bred by us and each one of these puppies went on to loving homes. We couldn't have asked for a better litter in temperament, structure and variation of wheaten color. |
Margo was our foundation bitch. She was the one who introduced us to the dog show circuit. Through her, we have met so many wonderful ridgeback owners and breeders from all over the world. I handled Margo to her Championship and she was such a pleasure to show, always begging for goodies from other handlers and gliding around the ring effortlessly. Margo has also attained her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and temperament (TT) titles and has participated in Junior Hunting Small Game competition and earned her JHSG as well.
Unfortunately, Margo fell victim to the inherited disease called Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) which attacks the nervous system and renders the dog unable to walk. But that didn't stop Margo as she would spend her days basking in the sun while watching her offspring run and play. She never felt left out and we took her everywhere on all our travels. |
2013: A special milestone for Margo was awarded at our 82nd RRCUS National Specialty held in Topeka, Kansas. The theme was "Over the Rainbow". The highlight of our trip was the Costume Night where Margo and I dressed as Professor Marvel and his caravan. Margo could no longer use her back legs due to DM but that didn't stop her from participating in our National. Margo and I won Best K-9 and Human costume and it was the most memorable night of my life! Dreams really do come true!!! Way to go Margo!!!! Margo passed away in her sleep at the age of 12+ years on January 26, 2015. She will always be remembered in our hearts |

Photo to the right: Dyna earned her NACSW Nose Work 2 title (NW2) (2015) and her Nose Work Level One Element Titles in Interiors (L1I) and in Vehicles (L1V) (2015). She had also earned her UKC Novice Nose Work (NN) and Advance Containers (AC) titles. (2016). |
Dyna was from Margo's first litter. She had competed in many events earning her Junior Coursing (JC), Rally Advanced (RA), Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Herding Instinct (HIC), Junior Hunting Small Game (JHSG) and Junior Coach Dog (JCD) titles. She was the "party police" of the pack making sure no one had too much fun. She was "Bill's dog" and followed him everywhere. This was one dog that loved to run and made sure the yard was void of any squirrels that may sneak their way in to steal the birdseed dropped on the ground. In 2017 and at 12-1/2 years old, Dyna became the first Rhodesian Ridgeback to earn a Farm Dog Certification title from the AKC. Dyna also competed in Barn Hunt where she earned her Senior title (RATS). Dyna passed away on December 14, 2019 at the age of 14-1/2. She was an amazing dog. |

Randi is our princess...she knows her comfort but is always on guard. She is the protector of the group, sounding the alarm if anything is out of the ordinary. She is the typically ridgeback, wary of strangers and aloof if anyone tries to pet her without first getting her permission. She loves to cuddle and has finished her AKC Championship and Grand Championship along with her UKC Championship in no time, always owner/handled by me. Randi is currently retired from the show ring after three years of being a special and which also named her a group-placing ridgeback. She had moved on to more fun things such as Barn Hunt in which she gained her Master title (RATM). She also has her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Herding Instinct (HIC). She was involved in Nose Work and has earned both Level 1 Containers (L1C) and Level 1 Exteriors (L1E) and NW1 titles.

Newby is our liver-nosed boy and full litter mate to Randi. He is a social butterfly, always going up to people he meets, allowing them to pet his velvet-soft body. Always on the go, Newby is ready for anything whether it is play or travel. He is the "low-man on the totem pole" of the pack with which he has no problem. We can take Newby anywhere as he is as gentle as they come. Newby has earned his UKC Championship in the Altered division and also attained multiple Best in Shows in the same competitions. He has his Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Rally Novice (RN), Herding Instinct (HIC) and his Nose Work 2 (NW2) and UKC Nose Work Elite (EN) titles. Newby also competed at the Master Level in Barn Hunt.

In 2015, we welcomed a new addition to our Tamadyra pack. Brody has been a dream come true...a little fire cracker of a pup who wasn't afraid of anything and was as curious as can be. He got along with the other dogs in our house hold, each one taking their turn to play with their new little brother. Brody was bred by Diane Jacobsen of Calico Ridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks located in California. Diane is a long-time ridgeback breeder and the quality of her dogs exceed in strong health and wonderful temperament. Brody has excelled in the conformation ring earning his championship at the age of 10 months and then his Grand Championship at the age of 20 months. He has participated in Barn Hunt earning his Master title and currently loves the game of Nose Work where he earned his Elite-1 title. |
September 19, 2015: 6 months and one day old...Brody became an official show dog today at his very first appearance in the Sheboygan KC Dog Show held in Plymouth, WI. Not only did Brody get 1st in his class, he went on to get WD, BOW and Best Puppy for his first two points! In the afternoon it didn't stop there as he also got a Group 3 in the Puppy Hound Group. Brody has achieved his AKC Championship title on January 30, 2016 at the tender age of 10 months, awarded by Judge Patricia Trotter. Brody earned his Grand Championship title at the young age of 20 months. This award was presented by Judge Kalen Dumke at the Skokie Valley KC dog show held in Rosemont, IL on December 11, 2016. Brody has earned his CA and BCAT lure coursing titles.
Our newest addition to the Tamadyra family is Stachi. This wonderful puppy is from a litter of 9 and is a grandson of our Brody. Brody's daughter, Lucy, was surgically implanted with 35-year-old frozen sperm from CH Sidiboarani's Alec of Tehran (Alec). All long-time ridgeback breeders will remember that Alec was the Best of Breed winner and High in Trial for Obedience of the 55th RRCUS National Specialty in 1986 at the age of two and one-half years. Also at that time, Alec had sired the very first ridgeback (Tori) to get a lure coursing title. We couldn't be happier in welcoming this little spit-fire into our home.
June 2023: Stachi earns his first title! After earning three qualifiers, Stachi was awarded his Rally Novice title. He loves this "game" and enjoys going to class every week at Cloud K9 Training Academy. Good boy, Stachi! Now he is working toward his Rally Advanced title while introducing him to nose work and lure coursing. Stachi earned his CA, JC and BCAT titles in lure coursing and has completed his ORTs for nose work. He is now competing for his official nose work titles in UKC and NACSW. |
